Pledge Drives, Programming, Waltzes

Now that the Spring Membership Drive has ended, WMNR will resume it's regular programming. This membership drive began on a Saturday, rather than the usual Friday, which meant that I was relieved  honored to have to interrupt just one Friday evening. I enjoyed trading barbs with Bill Stine, who was on Pitching Duty this past Friday. It happened to be kind of a slow night, but we met the donation "challenges" of the night and all was well that ended well.

I will be away from the studio for the next two Fridays, but am happy to report that Rich Moran will once again guest host The Night Cafe on Friday, April 22. I'll be back "live" on May 6.

One of the "premiums" WMNR offered during this recent membership drive was a new recording of mine which has just been released. The album is titled "La Valse", a collection of waltzes by Ravel, (including Ravel's solo piano arrangement of the title track), Chopin, Liszt, Villa-Lobos, Rachmaninov, Brahms, and my own arrangement of the beautiful "Slow Waltz" by Clarice Assad, a work Clarice composed for the New Century Chamber Orchestra as part of a suite titled "Impressions".

"La Valse" is available in digital download version here:

(It will be available as a CD within a few days via CD Baby)

Thank you for your support of WMNR.

Stay close to the music,

will
